Wheelthrown porcelain bowl color changing Alexandrite glaze and hand-painted black underglaze lines. The geometric pattern is created with a tape resist technique which leaves a very tactile unglazed pattern on the surface.
This bowl is a second because the glaze dripped more than I would like, and the rim is very slightly warped.
Dishwasher and Microwave Safe
The Alexandrite glaze is dichroic, which means it changes color depending on the type of light that hits it. It is purple in daylight and LED light, gray or blue in different fluorescent lighting, and pinkish purple in incandescent light. You can see an example of this glaze on a different pot in different lighting in the last photo.
